LILLY MAE HEATON MATHEWS

Lilly Mae Heaton Mathews, 96, of Memphis, MO, passed away on November 4, 2006, at the Scotland County Memorial Hospital in Memphis, MO.
Lilly was born on March 17, 1910, in Sullivan County, MO, the daughter of William and Myrtle Heaton.
She was united in marriage to Orville Mathews in Kirksville, MO, by Reverend Ralph Smith on November 22, 1932.
She was a member of the Christian Church. Lilly worked in childcare for several years. Lilly was a devoted mother and wife.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Orville; seven brothers, Arthur, Oris, Elva, Orlin, Loren, Hallie and Virgil Heaton; four sisters, Flossie Howes, Nellie Gooding, Ruth Brown, and Ann Meyers; and a grandson, J.R. Davolt.
Lillie is survived by one son, Jerry Mathews of Jackson, MO, and one daughter, Theresa Davolt and husband, Jimmie of Macon, MO; seven grandchildren, Jessie Hunolt, Amy Manyx, Ryan and Drew Mathews and John, Chris and Angie Davolt.
Memorials are suggested to the Green City Cemetery Association and may be left at or mailed to the Payne Funeral Chapel, 202 E. Madison St., Memphis, MO 63555.
Funeral services were held November 8, 2006, at the Payne Funeral Chapel, Memphis, MO, with Rev. Terry Lippstreu officiating. Pallbearers were Vern Heaton, Phillip Harbur, Brian Manyx, Danny Matthews, Carl Lovecamp, and Chris Davolt. Honorary pallbearers were Dale Heaton, Ryan Mathews and Justin Hunter. Interment was in the Green City Cemetery, Green City, MO. Arrangements were handled by the Payne Funeral Chapel, Memphis, MO.
