DONALD “DONNIE” DEAN MARTIN
(7/6/1939 - 11/3/2006)

Donald (Donnie) Dean Martin, 67, of Memphis, Missouri, died November 3, 2006 at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, Missouri.

He was born July 6, 1939, in Davis County, Iowa, to Estil Eugene and Rosa Ruth Bullock Martin.

Donnie graduated from Bloomfield High School, class of 1956. He married Linda Lou Howell at Bloomfield, Iowa, on August 22, 1957. To this union one daughter and four sons were born.

He was semi-retired in 2001 and was employed as a mechanic for Scotland County. He was a social member of the Wallace W. Gillespie Memorial Post 4958 and he enjoyed fishing.

On July 16, 2005, he was married to Lavona Ruth Schell with Reverend Charles Hammack officiating.

He is survived by his wife of Memphis; a daughter, Sherri Martin-Everett and her husband, Robert, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; three sons, Larry Martin and his wife, Kim, of Memphis, Missouri; Brad Martin and his wife, Karon, of Newport News, Virginia; Brian Martin and his wife, Lori, of Oak Grove, Missouri; two step-daughters, Stephanie Goldsberry of Bardwell, Kentucky and Carrie Blye and her husband, Larry, of La Center, Kentucky. Other survivors include his mother, Rosa Ruth Martin of Lakewood, Colorado; a brother, Ronald Martin and his wife, Barbara, of Morrison, Colorado; five grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a son, D. J. Martin; his wife, Linda and his father.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 8, at the Memphis Funeral Home with Reverend Charles Hammack officiating. Honorary bearers will be Ronnie Kice, Leslie Watkins, Billie Shelley, Mike Stephenson, Laddie Briscoe and Paul Briggs.

As an expression of sympathy, a memorial may be given for the family and may be left at or mailed to Memphis Funeral Home, 378 South Market Street, Memphis, Missouri 63555.
