BOBBY LEE NICOLI
(10/22/1927 – 9/7/2006)
Bobby Lee Nicoli, 78, of Downing, MO, passed away at the St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg, IL, on September 7, 2006.
The son of John William and Nancy LaVerna (Smithart) Nicoli, he was born in Dutch Creek Township in Washington County, IA, on October 22, 1927.
On September 11, 1948, in Bloomfield, IA, he was united in marriage to Mary Evelyn Mincks who preceded him in death on May 5, 1999.To this union, two children were born, Linda and James.
Survivors include his children, Linda Larkin and husband, Larry of Roseville, IL, and James Nicoli and wife, Deanna of Kingdom City, MO; six grandsons, Mike Larkin and wife, Brianne, John Larkin and wife, Jade, Bill Larkin and friend, Kelly Clay, Jim Nicoli and wife, Anita, Scott Nicoli and wife, Tara and Ron Nicoli and wife, Debbie Jo; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Claire Belle Wilson of Lancaster, MO; sisters-in-law Joy Nicoli of Memphis and Betty Nicoli of Bloomfield, IA; nieces, nephews and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; three brothers, Harry, John and Bruce Nicoli; and one sister, Helen Warren.
Bob was of the Baptist faith and a grain and livestock farmer most of his life in the northeast Missouri area. Later, he was partners with Raymond Mullinix for approximately seven years from 1971-1978 in the scrap metal business in Downing, MO. During the same period, he was also City Marshal for Downing, MO in the mid 70’s.
Funeral services were held September 11, 2006, at the Norman Funeral Home in Downing, MO, with David Barton, pastor of Downing Baptist Church officiating. Music was provided by soloist, Cindy Weldon. Pallbearers were Mike Larkin, John Larkin, Bill Larkin, Jim Nicoli, Scott Nicoli and Ron Nicoli.
Memorials have been established for the Brock Cemetery. Burial was in the Brock Cemetery, north of Memphis, MO. Arrangements were under the direction of the Norman Funeral Home of Downing, MO.
