VIRGINIA LEA MEEKS

Virginia Lea Meeks, 58, of Memphis, MO, died Saturday, August 12, 2006 at Boone Hospital in Columbia.
She was born July 5, 1948 in Kirksville, MO, to Perry Riley and Zerita Faye Wright Meeks.
She attended Scotland County R-1 school in Memphis, MO. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Memphis.
Virginia enjoyed playing games with family and friends, Bingo, shopping at Wal-Mart, crafts and riding the OATS bus. She also loved going to garage sales.
She is survived by two sisters; Jewel Skelton and her husband, Ed, of Milton, IA, Nancy Barnes and her husband, Gerald, of Edina, MO; a brother, Perry Richard “Dick” Meeks and his wife, Ruth, of Carlsbad, CA, and a sister-in-law, Donna Meeks of Memphis, MO. Other survivors include nieces, nephews and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Hollis Meeks, and a great nephew, Lucas Campbell.
Funeral services were held August 18, 2006 at the Memphis Funeral Home with Reverend Reese Blaine officiating. Music was provided by Mike and Pam Blaine. Burial was in Greensburg Cemetery in Greensburg, MO. Casket bearers were Paul Campbell, Randy Emel, Chris Harris, Joel Kapfer, Jim McBee, Doug Meeks, Thomas Wentworth and Ethan Wright.
