JOHN NICK KIRCHNER

John Nick Kirchner, 79, of St. Patrick, MO, died June 13, 2006 at the Clark County Nursing Home in Kahoka, MO.
He was born April 6, 1927 in St. Patrick, MO the son of Nick and Anna Marie Ellison Kirchner. He first married Bettie Lou Logsdon on May 5, 1948 in St. Patrick, MO. She preceded him in death in September 1971. He then married Marie Wiegand Davis on November 11, 1972 in Kahoka, MO. She preceded him in death on December 8, 2000.
He was a 1945 graduate of St. Patrick High School, a member of the Shrine of St. Patrick and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
John was a veteran of the United States Army and proudly served during WWII. He was the owner and operator of N. Kirchner and Sons Trucking from 1943 till 1990.
He is survived by four sons; Mike Kirchner and his wife Gerry of Wayland, MO, Mark Kirchner and his wife Julie of Kahoka, MO, David Kirchner and his wife Kim of Montrose, IA and Bill Davis of Davenport, IA, three daughters, Joann Spurgeon and her husband Larry of Canton, MO, Joyce Sedore and her husband Roger of Wyaconda, MO and Jeanne Bowman of Panama City, FL, seventeen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, one sister Kathleen Uhlmeyer and her husband Bernard of Canton, MO, two brothers James Kirchner of St. Patrick and William J. Kirchner and his wife Janet of West Plains, MO and his mother-in-law, Vivian Logsdon.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, one son in infancy, and one granddaughter.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held June 16, 2006 at the Shrine of St. Patrick in St. Patrick, MO with Father James Wheeler officiating. Burial was in the St. Patrick Cemetery.
A Christian vigil service was held June 15, 2006 with Father Paul Hartley officiating at the Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka, MO.
Pallbearers were Chris Kirchner, Dallas Spurgeon, Josh Kirchner, John Brennan, Joe Kirchner, and Chad Sedore. Honorary pallbearers were Greg Uhlmeyer, Adam Kirchner, Garrett Spurgeon, Becky Harris, Cari Watson, Jenny Palmer, Heidi Watson, and Kendi Kirchner. Music was by Julie Kirchner and the St. Patrick’s Choir.
