(2/20/1933 – 5/29/2006)
Letha Arlene (Donaldson) Potter of Downing, MO, passed away May 29, 2006, at the Scotland County Memorial Hospital in Memphis, MO.
The daughter of Forrest E. and Letha (Cook) Donaldson, she was born February 20, 1933 in rural Scotland County, MO.
On June 15, 1951, she married Louis E. (Tom) Potter and to this union two daughters were born.
Surviving is her daughter, Cheri Ebert of Downing, MO; three grandchildren, Mike Ebert and wife, Tenia of Downing, MO, Brandi Byrn and husband, Brian of Greentop, MO, and Julie Partin and husband, Shannon of Downing, MO; four great-grandchildren, Tayt, Kaycie, Hunter and Weston; three step-great-grandchildren; one brother, Forrest R. (Bud) Donaldson and wife, Sharon of Memphis, MO, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and an infant daughter, Sharon Kay Potter.
Upon graduating from the Downing High School, she resided in Santa Anna, CA, with her husband, while he served in the United States Marine Corps. She then returned to Downing, MO, and was employed by the Bank of Downing until her retirement in April 1996. Arlene faithfully attended the Downing Community Christian Church. She also helped organize the Lancaster Country Club’s Ladies Golf League.
Funeral services were held June 1, 2006, at the Norman Funeral Home in Downing, MO, with Pastor Harold Marshall officiating. Music was CD selections. Pallbearers were J.L. Newland, Dan Ebert, Leo Holton, Fred Moore, Rick Fugate, and Gene Bruner. Honorary pallbearers were Ronnie Martin and Jack Oliver. Memorials have been established for Hospice. Burial was in the Downing Cemetery in Downing, MO. Arrangements were under the direction of the Norman Funeral Home in Downing, MO.
