MYRTLE ESTELLA SPEAGH

Myrtle Estella Speagh, 94, of Memphis, MO, passed away on May 19, 2006, at the Scotland County Care Center in Memphis, MO.
Myrtle was born November 3, 1911, at Milan, IL, the daughter of William and Carrie Etta Baker Schuck. She was their second child, first daughter.
Myrtle and her parents moved to Iowa, when she was a little girl and in 1920 they moved to the Wilson Community north of Memphis, where she attended school. Myrtle joined the Brock Methodist Church when she was 11 years of age. She was an active member as long as her health permitted. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women.
On February 3, 1940, she was united in marriage to Hugh Speagh at the home of her parents. The moved to the Kirkpatrick farm in Center Point neighborhood, where they lived over 42 years, retiring to Memphis in October 1982.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sisters, Margaret Krogmeier and Eleanor Koontz, and one brother, Milton Schuck.
Myrtle is survived by her sister, Mary Marquette and her husband, Kenneth of Memphis, MO; three nieces, Mrs. Marilyn Burke of Fairfield, IA, Mrs. Beverly Bronssard of Maurise, LA, and Mrs. Debra Sue Corlew of Newton, IA; five nephews, John Schuck of Stockport, IA, John Krogmeier of Norwalk, IA, Stanley D. Marquette and Kenneth N. Marquette, both of Ottumwa, IA, and George Koontz of Memphis, MO; many great-nieces and nephews and many great-great-nieces and nephew and many cousins.
The family has suggested memorials to the Memphis United Methodist Church or the Scotland County Care Center or the donors choice.
Funeral services were held on May 22, 2006, at the Payne Funeral Chapel, Memphis, MO, with Rev. Charles Hammack officiating. Joan Hinds was organist and Anna Lynn Kirkpatrick was soloist. Pallbearers were Steve Morris, Don Billups, Phil Duley, Robert W. Shelley, Vaughn Biggs, and Bill Kiddoo. Interment was in the Memphis Cemetery, Memphis, MO.
