ARDELL DYE INGERSOLL
(10/22/1911 – 3/26/2006)
Reta Ardell Dye Ingersoll, 94, of Peru, IN, died March 26, 2006.
She was born October 22, 1911, in Scotland County, MO, to William E. and Minnie Todd Dye.
She married Paul Ingersoll on July 13, 1930, and he preceded her in death on October 22, 1973.
Ardell graduated Granger High School in 1930. She was a 59-year member of the First Presbyterian Church, Peru, a charter member of Sigma Phi Gamma Sorority and a charter member of 20th Century Home Economics Club, in which she remained active until her health failed; a member of Dukes Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Order of Eastern Star, Women of the Moose, and a circus museum volunteer.
She is survived by two daughters, Anne Kelly and husband, James of Medford, OR, and Reta Kidd and husband, Wayne of Peru, IN; four grandchildren, Doug Ingersoll of Bothell, WA, Susan Ingersoll of Renton, WA, Scott Kelly of Ashland, OR, and Phillip Kidd of Peru, IN; three great-grandchildren, Damon Kelly, Chelsea Kelly and Ashley Kidd; daughter-in-law, Shirley Ingersoll Miller of Everett, WA, and of the local area, cousins, Eva and Arleta Dye, Mack Ketchum, Helen Overfield, and Doris Atwater.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one son, Norwin P. Ingersoll; a grandson, Paul Kidd; a great-granddaughter, Amanda Kidd; two sisters, Mildred Dye and Rilla Rockhold and one brother, Jacob Dye.
Funeral services were at Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home in Peru, IN, on March 31, 2006, with Rev. John E. Hess officiating. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery, Peru.
