JAMES EDWARD OBRIEN

James Edward OBrien, 43, of Oologah, Oklahoma died March 20, 2006 at his home in Oologah, Oklahoma.

He was born October 9, 1962 in Kirksville, Missouri, a son of Richard and Mary Edith Korschgen OBrien.

James attended Granger Grade School and was a 1981 graduate of Scotland County High School. He liked working with wood after taking two years of building trades; he then worked as a carpenter and cabinetmaker.

In 1987 he moved to Colorado and attended Colorado Aerotech Avionics School where he earned an A&P (Airframe and Power-plant) license. He was hired in 1988 by American Airlines in Tulsa, OK, where he was employed in their shops as a mechanic.

James lived in Oologah, OK, where he built his own house and workshop. His best pal was a lovely black lab.

He is survived by his mother, Mary OBrien of Arbela, MO, two sisters, Jean Oberman and her husband Terry of Kahoka, MO, Nancy Holt and her husband Mark of Arbela, MO, one brother Dennis OBrien and his wife Bonnie of Luray, MO, four nephews, Anthony OBrien and his wife Paula of Canton, MO, Thomas Oberman and Brian Oberman both of Kahoka, and Chris Holt of Memphis, MO, three nieces, Denise OBrien of Boston, MA, Andrea Brandon and her husband Mike of Warrensburg, MO and Jennifer Holt of Memphis, MO, three great-nieces, Sidney Brandon, Keelie and MacKenzie OBrien, aunts and uncles, Leroy and Bernice Korschgen, Anna Mae Korschgen, Dorothy Toops, Joe and Esther Kerr and Maureen and Tipton Biggs and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Eddie OBrien, maternal grandparents Edward and May Schmid Korschgen, paternal grandparents, Morris and Charlotte Weaver OBrien.

Funeral services were held March 25 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka, MO with Father Paul Hartley officiating. Burial was in the Kahoka Cemetery in Kahoka, MO.

Pallbearers were Thomas Oberman, Brian Oberman, Anthony OBrien, Terry Oberman, Mark Holt and Chris Holt.
