DALE EVANS WINE
(1/23/1920 – 12/30/2005)
Dale Evans Wine, 85, of Marshfield, MO, formerly of Downing, MO, passed away at his home December 30, 2005.
The son of Raymond W. and Mildred (Evans) Wine, he was born on January 23, 1920 in Coon Rapids, IA.
He was a graduate of the Coon Rapids (IA) High School.
He was a veteran of World War II, where he served with the United States Army Air Corp. in the Air Transport Command in North Africa.
On February 4, 1945, he was united in marriage to Ethel Evelyn Jensen at St. Joseph, MO.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Wine of Marshfield, MO; three sons, Mark Wine and wife, Vickie of Columbia, MO, Stephen Wine of Springfield, MA, and James Wine of Springtown, TX; seven grandsons; one granddaughter; one great-grandson; and one sister, Phyllis Jones and husband, Frank of Durham, NC.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Jean Evison and Lois Merket.
Dale and Evelyn farmed in the Downing vicinity for several years. Following their retirement from farming, they traveled throughout the United States, but Downing has always remained their home.
Funeral services were held January 3, 2006, at the Downing Christian Church with Larry Smith, pastor of the church, officiating. Music was provided by organist, Betty Anderson, and soloist, Ted Cox. Pallbearers were Dan Wine, Matthew Wine, Thomas Wine, Larry Rains, John Jensen, and Glenn Nuckolls. Memorials have been established for the Downing Christian Church. Burial was in the Downing City Cemetery in Downing, MO. Arrangements were under the direction of the Norman Funeral Home of Downing, MO.
