Santa’s Helpers in Full Swing in Memphis
It’s hard to believe that Christmas is right around the corner and that Santa’s Helpers is in full swing again this year. Last year, 40 children from Scotland County benefited from this program.
If you know of any children in Scotland County that need to be added to the Santa’s Helpers list, please let their families know that sign-up sheets will be available at Memphis City Hall, Pamida in Memphis, and the Scotland County Sheriff’s Office. The deadline to sign children up will be December 8th this year. Once completed, sheets should be dropped off at Memphis City Hall, Pamida in Memphis, or the Scotland County Sheriff’s Office.
After the names and Christmas lists are received, tags are placed on the “Adopt a Child” tree, located at Pamida in Memphis, with each child’s wish list. You can pick a child(ren) to adopt and purchase items on their wish list or an account has been established at the Bank of Kirksville-Memphis Branch for anyone wishing to make a contribution to the program. Contributions should be made to “Santa’s Helpers” and the money will be deposited directly into the Santa’s Helpers account.
Santa’s Helpers is available to children ages newborn to 17 years of age. Special circumstances will be considered for those over 17 years old. Please contact Michele prior to signing up children over 17 years old by calling 660-216-6226 and leaving a message.
There are currently several tags on the “Adopt a Child” tree at Pamida in Memphis, so whether you wish to adopt a child from the tree or give a monetary donation, you will most definitely make a difference in some child’s life this Christmas.
