Police Looking Into Cruelty to Animal Cases
The Memphis Police Department is investigating a pair of canine deaths and is warning animal owners in the city limits to beware of a possible danger to their animals.
Recently a pair of dogs, owned by a resident that lives on the east edge of Memphis, were treated for unknown medical issues at an area veterinary clinic. It was determined both had sustained gunshot wounds. Both animals later died as a result of their injuries.
The owner indicated that both animals were kept in a pen at the residence, and neither dog had been out of the pens, leading them to believe that the animals had been shot by a trespasser or from a passing vehicle.
The Memphis Police Department is asking anyone with knowledge of this type of incident to contact the office at 465-2612.
