Community Players To Present Broadway Musical Review
The Memphis Community Players, Inc. will present a Broadway Musical Review from July 11 – 15 at the Memphis Theatre. The Review is the celebration of the 30th plus anniversary of the group.
The show will feature musical selections from Annie Get Your Gun, Guys and Dolls, Hello, Dolly, South Pacific, My Fair Lady, and Sound of Music, and many other Broadway hits as solos, ensembles, and chorus numbers.
In 1975 the Memphis Community Players was founded. The Players have produced over 30 musicals, plays, and melodramas during the past 30 years. They have brought musical and theatrical entertainment to the area, have supported the fine arts at Scotland County R-I Schools, have awarded innumerable scholarships, and have defrayed costs of operation and provided upkeep of the Memphis Theatre.
Two other performing groups, the Evening on Broadway Troupe, which began performing in 1991 as a fundraising group for the Memphis Community Players, and the Mark Twain Chorale are closely aligned with the Players.
Tickets for the Broadway Musical Review will go on sale July 3, at the Theatre. The box office will be open from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m. daily. For information and/or reservations call 660-465-2277.
