SCR-I Expanding Summer School Feeding Program
When the 2005-06 school year officially concludes May 19th it doesnít mean the school will lie dormant for long. Kids will actually be returning to class the following Monday as Summer School starts May 22nd.
Once again Scotland County R-I School District has been approved for the Summer School Feeding Program.
ďThis year we are expanding out to the whole community,Ē stated food services director Terry Arnold. ďThis means that breakfast and lunch will be offered free to all Scotland County students from age 18 and younger.Ē
The program also provides meals for individuals over 18 who are determined by a state educational agency to be mentally or physically disabled, and who participate in a school program for the mentally or physically disabled.
This program will begin May 22 and go until June 26.
Meals will not be served on Monday May 29th.
ďYou will be responsible for getting your child here and picking them up once meal service is over unless they are attending the fun summer school program,Ē stated Arnold.
At the grade school, breakfast will be served from 7:30 to 8:00 a.m. and lunch will be served from 10:50 to 11:30 a.m. The high school will serve breakfast from 7:30 to 8:00 a.m. and lunch will be served from 11:00 to 11:30 a.m.
This is a program funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and administered by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, Community Food and Nutrition Assistance Unit. The program provides nutritionally balanced meals.
