Farmers’ Market Workshop To Be Held In Memphis
A workshop, “Growing & Marketing For A Farmers’ Market” will be held April 6 and 7 from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Scotland County Fitness Center in Memphis.
The workshop is free and designed for Farmers’ Market vendors or growers and producers, as well as anyone interested in marketing their products.
Information on the following products will be discussed: fresh fruits and vegetables, milk products, eggs, jams & jellies, honey, baked goods, meat, fresh flowers, and container plants.
Other topics to be discussed include Farmers’ Market Rules & Regulations, Health Issues, Tax Issues, Marketing Your Produce & Pricing Your Products, Cost of Production & Record Keeping, Making Consumers Stop at Your Market Space, Vegetable & Fruit Crop Updates, and Diseases & Disorders of Horticulture Crops.
The workshop is sponsored by University of Missouri Extension and requires pre-registration by April 3. Call the Schuyler County Extension Center at 660-457-3469 for more details and to register. The workshop will be canceled if registrations are low.
