Clothes Closet Seeking Support From Community
Sometimes, someone has a strong desire to do something nice for the community. That was Carol Garrett’s wish when she organized and opened the Clothes Closet, a free service to families.
In space graciously loaned by KMEM, the Clothes Closet is located in the old North School. Needy individuals can find clothing of all sizes and other items free of charge.
Now under the direction of the Scotland County Ministerial Alliance, the Clothes Closet will be open on a regular basis, every Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The Clothes Closet will be possible only with the help of kind volunteers. Organizers are looking for volunteers to commit a small amount of time - one Monday per month for a four-hour shift. If you can help with this worthy cause, please call Ilene Howell at 660-479-5470.
The Clothes Closet also needs clothing donations of clean spring and summer clothing. Please drop off your donations on Mondays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., when the Closet is open.
