SCMH Adds New State-Of-The-Art Chemistry Analyzer

Scotland County Memorial Hospital recently purchased and installed an AU400e primary chemistry-immuno analyzer for the SCMH laboratory.

The dedicated specialty analyzer is an automated chemistry-immuno system with an Olympus’ 122 test menu.

Analysis available includes chemistry, urine chemistry, specific proteins, esoteric chemistries and tests for therapeutic drug monitoring, drugs-of-abuse, and thyroid function.

With random access of up to 800 tests-per-hour, the AU400e delivers efficiency and yet another new level of speed to the SCMH main laboratory, and is ready to go at any time of day or night.

Featuring an immediate STAT interrupt, the analyzer provides results available in a turn-around time of within five minutes.

The walk-away design saves operator time, by providing: 80-sample rack loading for peak workloads, mixed bar code capability, plus Olympus reagents are liquid and ready-to-use. Advanced Calibration stores up to 5 calibration curves per test.

“Another great aspect that I really like about this system is that it is state-of-the-art, and is being used in many larger labs such as Quest,” stated Pam Barnes, S.M.(A.S.C.P.), laboratory supervisor, “all-in-all it is a system that larger laboratories can really appreciate”.
