VFW To Host Benefit Supper and Auction for Golf Course
Boosters of the local golf course are hard at work to find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. The organization is diligently pursuing fund-raising efforts in an attempt to reach a $25,000 challenge by March 1. If obtained, the goal will result in a matching $20,000 donation from an anonymous benefactor to Timber Ridge Golf Course.
In addition to seeking donations, members of the golf course board of directors are organizing a dinner, dance and auction to be held at the Memphis VFW Post #4958 on February 18th.
The event will open at 6:00 p.m. with a pork loin supper prepared by the VFW chefs. A fund raiser auction will be held after dinner with numerous items to be sold to raise money for the golf course. Donors interested in giving items for the auction can contact Roger Robinson at the post 660-465-8995 or 660-341-4833.
Donnie Middleton and the KMEM Sound Machine will provide music following the dinner and auction to round out the evening of fun.
Tickets are available for $15. Organizers request that participants RSVP by February 13th to allow adequate preparations for the meal.
