Timber Ridge Golf Course Hosts Two-Couple Scramble Tournament
A total of 10 teams took part in the annual two-couple scramble golf tournament held at Timber Ridge Golf Course in Memphis on July 31st. The 40 golfers enjoyed a cool, overcast day to complete the 18-hole event.
Three teams tied for first place in the championship flight as they all finished with rounds of 60, eight under par. Organizers broke the tie with a card off, randomly selecting hole number six, and working backward to find the team with best score on that hole.
The team of Allan and Teresa Creek and Karri and Chris Feeney won the tie breaker to take home the top prize. The Stuckeys and McCormicks won second in the tie breaker while Mary and Gary Young and Roger and Arlys Grant finished third.
The A flight went to the team of Fowler and Flood with a score of 62. There was a two-way tie for second place with scores of 63. Martin and Walters won the card off with the team of Johnson and McMillan taking third.
Gary Fowler had the longest drive in the fairway on hole #6 to win a prize while Teresa Creek had the long drive on hole #2.
Leslie Clark won the 50/50 contest for women on hole number 3 with the shot closest to the pin, 5í4Ē. Chris Feeney won the menís 50/50 with his shot that was 14í11Ē from the cup.
Roger Riebel took home a prize for making the longest putt on hole #5 while Dottie Kahler made the longest putt on #9.
Coming up this month at Timber Ridge Golf Course are a four-man Calcutta golf tourney on August 7th; Twilight golf on August 21st and a two-person lottery golf tourney on August 28th. The course also hosts weekly leagues. Women play on Tuesday evenings and menís league is held every Thursday with tee off at 6:00 p.m.
