KMEM 100.5FM Hosts Open Buddy Bass Tournament at Lake Show-Me

Thirty-one boats and a total of 61 fishermen from Iowa, Illinois and Missouri came to Lake Show-Me on the beautiful morning of May 21st to compete in the first annual Open Buddy Bass Tournament, organized by KMEM FM 100.5.

The high was in the upper 70s and the winds were calm for most of the day. It wasnt until noon that the winds picked up to 15-20 mph. The tournament started at 6:00 a.m. and ended at 2:00 p.m.

At weigh-in-time, Dean Spurgeon and George Mendenhall weighed first fish and held the big bass weight at 4.05 pounds. Lake Show-Me is home to much bigger bass, though they didnt seem to be biting. Spurgeon/Mendenhall still held the big bass and were hopeful of winning. But those dreams came to an end with the last boat. FA Phosy abrought in a bass weighing 4.40 pounds.
