Clark County Keeps Tigers Winless In League Play
Most high school basketball coaches would be satisfied with 34 points in a half. So, Clark County’s Jaryt Hunziker had to be pleased when his Clark County Indians broke the 30-point mark in the game’s opening minutes on Tuesday night in Memphis.
The visiting Indians took advantage of the Scotland County run-and-gun style to blow the contest wide open in the first period.
Adam Huckey had 10 of his game-high 23 points during the run that built a double-digit lead at 34-19.
Scotland County tried to battle back, using the three-point show. The Tigers made 10 shots from behind the arc but never were able to offset the first period deficit.
The Indians led 52-33 at the intermission before Scotland County made a third period run. It was not nearly enough as Clark County finished the game on a 17-11 run to take the 84-62 victory.
Jared Shelley scored 19 points to lead the Tigers, who dropped to 2-16 on the year and remained winless (0-3) in conference play. Matt Wickert pitched in with 12 points and Grant Blomme had 10.
T.J Duncan added 16 points for Clark County while Cody Protsman finished with 13.
