Andrea Adeline Norton, 95, of Wyaconda, passed away December 17, 2005 at the Clark County Nursing Home in Kahoka.

She was born the daughter of Andrew and Florence (Adams) Bourgeois in rural Wyaconda on October 21, 1910.

Andrea married Ray Allan Norton on December 1, 1930 in rural Clark County, MO. He preceded her in death on June 10, 1954.

She was a member of the Wyaconda Baptist Church and the Royal Neighbors of America. Andrea was a homemaker and managed the farm until her retirement in 1971. She then moved to Wyaconda.

Throughout that time she sold Blair products. Andrea enjoyed crocheting, going to the Senior Center, and helping to take care of her family.

She was preceded in death by: her husband; parents; children, Beatrice, Gladys, and Hubert; two infant grandsons, Lonnie Gates and Eddie Ray Glasgow.

She is survived by: her four grandsons, Vernon and wife Sue Glasgow of Waverly, KS, Keith Gates of Kahoka, Harold Gates and Lee and wife Mary Gates, all of Dalhart, TX; three granddaughters, Carolyn McWhorter of New Strawn, KS, Sherry and husband Bill Grimes of Wyaconda, Dawn and husband Derek Kirchner of Kahoka; great-grandchildren, Kristi and Shane McWhorter of New Strawn, Troy Gates of Chandler, AZ, Kim Gates of Canton, Jennifer, Brian, Michael, and Melissa Glasgow of Waverly, Lacy and Cody Grimes of Quincy, Andrea Gates of Dalhart, Chad Gates of Florida, Whitney Gates of Dalhart, Braydon, Breanna, and Briston Kirchner of Kahoka; great-great-grandchildren, Elisa, Elena, Alexandria, and Andrea Gates of Chandler, Dennis Adams of New Strawn, and Waylon Gates of Dalhart; and a sister-in-law, Irene Bourgeois of Kahoka.

Funeral services were held December 21, 2005 at the Wyaconda Baptist Church with Rev. Ernest Deatrick officiating. Pianist was Elizabeth Brookhart. Serving as pallbearers were Lee Gates, Keith Gates, Bill Grimes, Harold Gates, Derek Kirchner, and Shane McWhorter. Honorary bearers were Jack Clay, Chad Gates, Troy Gates, Brian Glasgow, Tom LaFrenz, Vernon Glasgow, Bill Golbricht, Michael Glasgow, Wayne Bourgeois, and Eldon Bourgeois. Burial was in the New Woodville Cemetery, rural Wyaconda, MO.

Memorials are suggested to the New Woodville Cemetery fund and can be left at or mailed to the Gerth Funeral Service, 115 N. Main, Wyaconda, MO 63474.
