Shirley Ann Parker, 73, of Belton, MO, lost a hard-fought battle with cancer on October 11, 2005.

She was born on August 4, 1932, the daughter of Lee Watson and Eleanor Watson Rupert in Coles County, IL.

She married Wayne Stanley Parker, March 17, 1952, who preceded her in death in 1989. In July 1994, she married Hillis Forrester, also preceding her in death.

She is survived by five loving and caring daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Gary (Kathy) Eggers of Phoenix, AZ, Mr. and Mrs. Jim (Marty) Cochran of Hutchinson, KS, Mr. and Mrs. Scott (Becky) Childress of Edina, MO, Tamara Nance of Tampa, FL, Mr. and Mrs. Ken (Tracy) McDonald of Belton, MO; and a stepson, Jim Forrester; 12 grandchildren, Shannon Miller, Shawna Miller Piros, Jacob Eggers, Ryan and Zachary Cochran, Courtney Childress Bonnell, Lacy Childress, Cole Orton, Jessica and Jennifer McDonald, William and Morgan Nance; four great-grandchildren, Parker and Austin Piros, Cheyenne Miller, and Memphis Eggers. She is also survived by her sisters, Mrs. George (Joan) Gerth, Mrs. Bill (Donna) Shoop, Mrs. Vernon (Janice) Tippett, and half-sister, Mrs. Randy (Debbie) Sharp; sisters and brothers-in-law, Vera and John Jezek, Dave and Marilyn Parker, Betty Fox, Jane and Jerry Hise, Linda and Larry Dhamers; and 30 nieces and nephews.

Shirley was an active working mother who was employed by Keithís Cafť, Woodsmall Ford, and Harris Motor Company until she became interested in politics. Her political career began when she was appointed as Deputy Circuit Clerk and Recorder to Duffy Hudnall. She held the office of Circuit Clerk and Recorder of Scotland County from 1970-1985. During her 15 years as an elected official she held many positions in the Missouri State Circuit Clerks and Recorders Association. In 1974 she was elected vice-president for two terms. From 1978-1982 she served as president and continued to serve the organization from 1982-1985 as secretary/treasurer.

Shirley established Sisterís Catering Service and together with her daughters and extended family catered many weddings in and around Scotland County. From 1976 to 1981 she was an agent for American Family Insurance and was also the license fee agent.

Shirley enjoyed sewing, gardening, and baking. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, the Scotland County Democrat Committee, and Missouri State Circuit Clerk and Recorders Association.

Shirleyís wishes were that memorials be given to Kansas City Hospice and may be left at or mailed to the Payne Funeral Chapel, 202 E. Madison, Memphis, MO 63555.

Memorial services were held October 15, 2005, at the Payne Funeral Chapel, Memphis, MO, with Rev. Carol Blackwell officiating. Honorary bearers were Tom Shalley, John Ed Luther, George Mathes, Roger Riebel, and Bob Hunolt, and her grandsons, Shannon Miller, Jacob Eggers, Ryan and Zachary Cochran, Cole Orton, and William Nance. Inurnment will be in the Memphis Cemetery, Memphis, MO.
