Christine Savina Calvert Lowery, 96, of Kahoka, MO, formerly of Wyaconda, MO died September 28, 2005 at the Clark County Nursing Home in Kahoka, MO.

Christine was born on October 31, 1908 in Clark County, MO, a daughter of George and Margaret Winkler Stutz. She was united in marriage to Raymond B. Calvert on November 24, 1926. He preceded her in death on December 7, 1966. She was later united in marriage to Lester Lowery in February of 1971. He preceded her in death on June 2, 1977.

Christine was a member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ in Kahoka, MO. She had served as President of the Ladies Auxiliary of WW I Veterans of Colorado, and was a past member of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by one daughter, Lois Humes and her husband Joe A. of Wyaconda, MO, one son, Allen Calvert and his wife Beverly of Davenport, IA, one daughter-in-law, Normalee Calvert of Mesa, AZ, seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Raymond B. Calvert, Jr., in May of 2004, one grandson, Jerry B. Calvert, one great-grandson, Nash Thomas Calvert, three sisters, Mae Bartlett, Vera Stutz and Elsie Young and two brothers, Leonard Stutz and Bradley Stutz.

Funeral services were held October 1, 2005 at the St. Paul United Church of Christ in Kahoka, MO with Reverend Ken Beckmann officiating. Burial was in the Peaksville Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Ronald Calvert, David Calvert, Larry Calvert, Richard Humes, Joe B. Humes and Stan Blythe.

Music was by John Spray.

Memorials were made to the St. Paul United Church of Christ or the Peaksville Cemetery.

The Vigen Memorial Home of Kahoka, MO was in charge of arrangements.
