MARGARET R. GOODEN

Margaret Ruth Gooden, 94, of 1225 42nd Street SE, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Monday, May 9, 2005 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids.
She was born March 23, 1911, in Wayne County, Iowa, the daughter of James T. and Clara Crowley Forrester. She married Glen Gooden, March 24, 1929 in Memphis, Missouri. He died in April, 1961. Margaret worked for over 30 years at the Wilson Meat Packing Plant in Cedar Rapids. She was a member of the Cedar Christian Church and P-3 Retirees.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Yanecek and husband Arnold of Walford, Iowa; Kathy Hein and husband Dale of West Branch, Iowa; a son, Richard G. Gooden of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and a son-in-law, Charles Bartlett of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren: Jim Yanecek and wife Kay, Ruth Becker and husband Dan, Dave Yanecek and wife Jan, Doug Yanecek and wife Shelly, Bill Kanke and wife Lori, Brenda Poole and husband Greg, Kevin Kanke, Chuck Bartlett and wife Roberta, Rodney Bartlett and wife Shannon, Josh Gooden, James Gooden and R.J. Gooden; eighteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and several nieces, nephews and cousins in the Memphis, Missouri and surrounding area.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Glen, two daughters; Carolyn Gooden and JoAnn Bartlett, a brother, Wilford Forrester, a sister, Helen Nightengale and a grandson, Keith Otis Sander.
Funeral services were held Saturday, at the First Christian Church in Memphis with Bro. Larry Smith officiating. Organist was Ann Luther. Burial, following the service, was in the Memphis Cemetery. Casket bearers were Jim Yanecek, Dave Yanecek, Doug Yanecek, Bill Kanke, Kevin Kanke, Chuck Bartlett, Rodney Bartlett, Josh Gooden, James Gooden and R.J. Gooden.

Arrangements were under the direction of Memphis Funeral Home.
