RANDY GENE COLTON

Randy Gene Colton, 56, of Zillah, WA, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer on April 20, 2005.
Randy was born February 6, 1949 in Knox City, MO, to Murl and Mary Colton. The family went to Washington in 1962 where he graduated from Wapato High School in 1967. He attended Yakima Valley Community College until he was drafted into the Army in 1969. While serving in Vietnam he met Mike (The Kid), William (Duffy), Chris (Red), George (Pineapple), Charles (Cooper), Doug (Maggot), Ron (S.S.), who recently made a special trip out to visit Randy (P.R.). After being honorably discharged he returned to Sunnyside where he was employed by PW Eagle for over 25 years.
He moved to Zillah and started his orchard while raising his four kids. After beating all the odds in 2003 with esophageal cancer, he enjoyed traveling to the beach, Montana and Hawaii as well as many other places with his wife.
He enjoyed watching his kids and grandkids participate in their many sports activities.
He is survived by his wife, Mindy; his children, Micaela and husband Eli Whitaker, Ryan, Daelene, and Kevin Colton; his grandsons, Ashton, Nathan and Payton Whitaker; his step-sons, Phillip and wife, Emily Creach, Ben Creach; step-daughter, Jenny and her husband, Scott; step-grandkids, Cody, Abby and Elijah. His sisters Ruth Ann (Keith) Boyer, Pat Howard, Bonnie (Paul) Rush; his brothers, Jerry (Gloria) Colton, Tom (Lorene) Colton; mother of his children, Susan Kinzel and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents Murl and Mary, brother Jim and wife Amy and brother in-law Ernie.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Memorial Foundation for the North Star Lodge, 2701 Tieton Dr., Yakima, 98902.
