RUBY M. (KELLISON) BYRN McNARY

Ruby M. (Kellison) Byrn McNary, 98, of Downing, MO, passed away February 17, 2005, at the Scotland County Care Center in Memphis, MO, where she had been a resident since 1998.
The daughter of John William and Nellie Asceneth (Stott) Kellison, she was born on June 27, 1906, in Willmathsville, MO.
On September 30, 1939, she was united in marriage to Dewey Byrn. They lived on a farm south of Downing, MO, until moving into Downing. While living in Downing, Ruby worked for the Downing school system, where she was employed as a cook. Dewey passed away April 1974 and Ruby married Jim McNary on June 21, 1976 and he preceded her in death on November 1, 1993.
Survivors include six step-children, Bernadine Ritter, Bobby McNary, Beatrice Fugate, Barbara Ross, Jimmy McNary, and Betty Jo Pervis; 13 nieces and nephews, Glen Kellison, Letha St. Clair, Albert Kellison, Norman Kellison, Lucille Collop, Loeta McCartney, Lavern Kellison, Bill Kellison, Mary Hopewell, Wilma Stewart, Gary Kellison, Irene Corey and Patsy Angstead.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Dewey Byrn and Jim McNary; five brothers, Raymond, Danny, Ivan, John Dee and Lawrence Kellison; one step-daughter, Berniece Shumate; one step-son, Gary Houghton; two nephews, Tom Kellison and Clarence Kellison; and two nieces, Lena Collop and Rosie Barker.
Ruby was a member of the Downing Baptist Church in Downing, MO, where she attended faithfully while her health permitted. She was also a member of the Women Mission Society.
Funeral services were held February 21, 2005, at the Downing Baptist Church in Downing, MO with David Barton, pastor of the church officiating. Music was provided by Twila Mathews, organist. Pallbearers were Rick Fugate, David Fugate, Bill Fugate, Robert Fugate, Bill Kellison and Ellis Collop. Burial was in the Coffey Cemetery, south of Downing, MO. Arrangements were under the direction of the Norman Funeral Home of Downing and Lancaster, MO.
