Leantha Pearl Dannenhauer, 90, of Memphis, MO, passed away February 15, 2005 in the Scotland County Care Center, Memphis, MO.

Leantha was born September 22, 1914, in Willmathsville (Adair County), MO, the daughter of Clyde and Alta Phelps Mallett.

On May 26, 1951, she married Harry Dannenhauer, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her parents and two sisters.

She enjoyed 50 years of employment at J.C. Penney, Laird’s Jewelry Store, Louise’s Style Shop, and Gardine Drug Store. After retiring she enjoyed volunteering at the Memphis Nutrition Site. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Memphis, MO. Leantha enjoyed gardening, handiwork and her family.

Surviving are one son, Kent Dunn and his wife, Deanna; one step-son, Jack Dannenhauer and wife, Darlene; seven grandchildren, Stacie Juhl, Kris Dunn, Dana Hauk, Danette Clatt, Adam Dannenhauer, Aaron Dannenhauer and Becca Dannenhauer; 12 great-grandchildren, Jason, Katy and Derek Juhl, Drew and Brady Dunn, Amanda Long, Cassondra, Gavin and Ivy Hauk, Emily Mauck, Casey, Kaela and Abby Clatt; and three great-great-grandchildren, Julie, Hayden and Alex Long.

The family has suggested memorials to the Memphis Nutrition Site or the Shiloh Christian Children’s Ranch and may be left at or mailed to the Payne Funeral Chapel, 202 E. Madison, Memphis, MO 63555.

Funeral services were held February 19, 2005, at the Payne Funeral Chapel, Memphis, MO, with Brother Jack Sumption officiating. Music was by Joe Fulk. Pallbearers were Aaron Dannenhauer, Kris Dunn, Adam Dannenhauer, Jason Juhl, Casey Clatt, and Gavin Hauk. Interment was in the Hickory Grove Cemetery, Scotland County, MO.
