RICHARD C. “DICK” JUTTE
(9/13/1928 – 1/11/2005)
Richard C. “Dick” Jutte, 76, of rural Memphis, MO, died January 11, 2005, from cancer of the lung at his daughter’s home in Wolverine Lake, MI.
Dick was born September 13, 1928, in Gregory, MO, the son of William Frederick and Pearle Stover Jutte.
He married Anna Louisa Gallup on March 11, 1966, in Champaign, IL and to this union two children were born, Wendy Ann Jutte and Jed Alton Jutte.
He was a retired Memphis farmer and one of the first farmers in the area to implement no-till corn and soybean planting in 1973. He was an elder and member of the First Presbyterian Church in Memphis, MO, and a past Jolly Jacks & Jills 4-H Club Leader.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Kenneth, Carroll, and Milton Jutte.
Survivors include a daughter, Wendy Ann Eckman and grandchildren, Anna Lee and Alexa Rose Eckman of Wolverine Lake, MI; his son, Jed Alton Jutte and his wife, Jennifer and her daughter, McKenzie of Mineral Wells, TX; his ex-wife and caretaker, Ann Jutte of McAllen, TX; his brother, Bill Jutte and wife, Dixie of Keokuk, IA; and several nieces and nephews.
The family has suggested memorials to the First Presbyterian Church or Scotland County Cancer Fund and may be left at or mailed to the Payne Funeral Chapel, 202 E. Madison, Memphis, MO 63555.
Memorial services were held January 17, 2005, at the Payne Funeral Chapel, Memphis, MO, with Rev. Charles McCracken officiating. Music was by Angela Westhoff and Alisa Kigar. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Larry Wiggins, D.V.M., Eugene Brown, Sonny Cantril, Sterling Forrester, Alan Bunch, Mike Walker, Joe Smith, Joe Tom Walker, Wallace Fogle, Mark Murphy, David Wiggins, Mark Wiggins, Scott Small and Mike Cantril. Burial of his cremains will be in the Kahoka Cemetery, Kahoka, MO, at a later date.
