HELEN LOUISE SHULTZ
(6/28/1922 - 1/8/05)



Helen Louise Shultz, age 82 of Edina, Missouri, passed away Saturday, January 8, 2005 in her home at Edina.

She was born June 28, 1922, the daughter of Virgil A. and Sylvia (Mallett) Phinney.

On September 13, 1946 in Memphis, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Ernest C. Shultz and he preceded her in death on November 12, 1992. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Clayton Phinney, one infant daughter, and twin-infant granddaughters.

Surviving are two sisters, Eileen Boernson and husband, Don of Troy, Missouri and Barbara Shultz and husband Edwin of Rutledge, Missouri; three daughters, Sandy Miller and friend, Bob Hunolt of Edina, Missouri, Judy Cunningham and husband George of Ixonia, Wisconsin and Sue Ellen Lubel and husband, Mark of Edina; three sons, Richard Shultz of Edina, Roger Shultz and wife, Linda of Quincy, Illinois and Randy Shultz and wife, Amee Jo of Edina; thirteen grandchildren, including Tina Mentch and husband, Dean, Keith Cunningham and wife Joie, Melanie Miller and fiancťe, Justin Morgret, Ryan Miller and friend, Jessica Parker, Andrea Miller and fiancťe, Martin Blake, Dustin Shultz and fiancťe, Kimberly Busbee, Tyson Shultz, Kyla Shultz and fiancťe, Nathan Wittland, Kisha Hudson and husband, Andy, Deanna Shultz, Andrew Parrish, Leo Lubel and Jeremy Lubel; eleven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was reared in the Memphis community where she received her education and graduated from the Memphis High School. Mr. & Mrs. Shultz were engaged in dairy farming near Rutledge, Missouri. Following their retirement in 1982 they moved to Edina to make their home. She attended the Baptist Church in Edina, Missouri. She had been employed for Green Thumb in Knox County for a number of years, at the Knox County High School, Knox County Nursing Home, Knox County Library, The Clothes Closet and was currently serving as secretary for Oats Transportation. She enjoyed bird watching, gardening, traveling on the Oats Bus and especially the time spent with her family and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family and her many friends.

Funeral services were held January 10, 2005 at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO. Mrs. LaMayra Brown officiated the services and provided the music. Burial was at the Pauline Cemetery at Rutledge, MO.

Casket bearers were Dustin Shultz, Tyson Shultz, Ryan Miller, Keith Cunningham, Dean Mentch, Andy Hudson, Andrew Parrish and Nathan Wittland.

An expression of sympathy in memory of Mrs. Shultz may be made to O.A.T.S. (Older Adults Transportation System) or to Hospice of Northeast Missouri. The memorials may be left at or mailed to the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1, Edina, MO 63537.
