Rutledge Fall Celebration Planned For September 17
The community of Rutledge is making plans for their ninth annual Rutledge Fall Celebration on Saturday, September 17th. Crafters will begin setting up at 9:00 a.m., then there will be the biggest contest, which includes any grown vegetable, fruit or weed. The flower arrangement contest, sponsored by Master Gardeners, will also be held at that time, and for information call 883-5637. The raffle will start at 9:00 a.m. with a grand prize of $50.
Contests will begin at 10:30 a.m., window vibrating contest, kids’ games, pedal tractor pull, face painting, and dime pitch. Lunch will be served in the park at 11:00 a.m., consisting of hot dogs, hamburgers, barbecued pork, scalloped potatoes, chips, pie and cake.
The back-seat driver contest and bed races will begin at 12:00 p.m. There will be an open stage at 1:00 p.m. for musical performances with square dancing at 2:30 p.m. Contact Irene Mayfield at 883-5891 for more information. Bingo will begin at 2:00 p.m.
Everyone is encouraged to bring their lawn chairs and be ready to have fun.
