Erwin Named Runner-Up in 2005 Missouri State Fair Queen Contest
Miss American Royal 2004, Megan Perry of Bethel, MO, was crowned the 2005 Missouri State Fair Queen on August 12, 2005 in the Mathewson Exhibition Center in Sedalia, MO.
“There are so many talented girls here, it is such an honor to achieve this,” Perry said.
This was Megan’s 4th year to run in the Missouri State Fair Queen Pageant.
She said that the entire contest is so intense and that coming back year after year required her to push herself that one extra step.
That may be the key for Scotland County Fair Queen Jessica Erwin. The SCR-I graduate earned second runner-up honors after capturing the talent competition’s top prize and could capitalize on the experience of her first appearance in the state competition to return for a shot at the title in 2006. Organizers pointed to Perry’s experience in the event and noted that Erwin made a solid showing in her first attempt at the title.
The state fair queen said she looks forward to the coming year and hopes to reach as many people at the fair as possible because she truly believes that the Missouri State Fair is a family affair.
Megan will be a senior at the University of Missour and is majoring in Ag Journalism. She hopes to go into sales and marketing after graduation.
