Area Shows To Fill The Sky With Fireworks

The Fourth of July holiday will have the local sky filled with fireworks as local organizations offer pyro-technical performances for the public.

The Scotland County Care Center will host a fireworks display for residents and the public on Thursday, June 30th beginning at dusk in the parking lot of the Residential Terrace. (The rain date is July 5th for the event.)

The Downing Community Fire Association will host its fourth annual Independence Day fund raiser on Sunday, July 3 beginning at 6:00 p.m. Guests will be treated to a hog roast and all the trimmings. Promoters encourage spectators to bring their lawn chairs and stay after the meal for the fireworks display set for dusk at the Downing Appreciation Days grounds.

If viewers look to the east they likely will get glimpses of the big boomers going off near Arbela.

The Catfish Place will be the site of the 31st Annual Community Fireworks Show sponsored by area merchants. The show is set to begin at dusk on Sunday, July 3rd.
