MACC Asking Motorists To ‘Shell Out’ For Peanuts
You don’t have to be nuts to drive across the Memphis square Saturday, June 18 but you will likely end up with some, peanuts that is. The Memphis Area Chamber of Commerce will be holding its annual Peanut Day fundraiser on the square.
Members of the chamber will be selling bags of peanuts on all four corners of the square beginning at 8:00 a.m. Saturday morning. Not only will motorists get a bag of peanuts, but each purchase for 50-cents will also earn the buyer at least one prize in each bag of peanuts. The special gifts are made possible by the MACC member businesses.
The proceeds from the MACC Peanut Day are one of the main sources of revenue for the chamber. The organization uses the money to promote local events, purchase holiday decorations and market the community to possible visitors and tourists through promotional materials and the community website, www.scotlandcounty.net.
