SCMH Closing Road To Allow Expansion
Scotland County Memorial Hospital will soon start construction on a new birthing center extending from the east side of the hospital building. In order to facilitate the new building, the roadway between the east side of the hospital and the Business Annex Building will be closed.
The Watkins Street access (south hospital entrance) will provide entry to parking for all clinics and outpatient services, and will continue to be the Emergency Room entrance. For added convenience, the north hospital lot will remain a parking area, and can best be accessed from Sigler Avenue just as in the past.
This continued progress and growth at Scotland County Memorial Hospital will include enhancing the availability of patient care and increasing services available to women in Northeast Missouri.
Scotland County Memorial Hospital (SCMH) as the lead organization applied for a grant to finance the project from The Missouri Foundation For Health (MFH) to develop Child Birth & Beyond, and in February of 2005 was notified of a $1,318,255. grant award to fund the project.
