Local Crash Numbers Up In February
The first two months of 2005 have seen traffic accident numbers nearly double in Scotland County according to a report released March 10 by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Troopers investigated six crashes in February, bringing the two-month total for Scotland County to 16. In 2004, when Scotland County had the lowest accident total in the 16-county Troop B, there were only nine accidents in the first two months.
Schuyler County also had a bad month, jumping from zero accidents in 2004, up to eight during the month of February.
Despite the local woes, Troop B as a whole saw accidents numbers drop from 317 last year to just 280 in January and February of 2005.
