SCR-I Drama Class To Perform ‘The Legend Of Robin Hood . . . Sort Of’
Stage coach Mary Ruth Couch never dreamed that after graduating eight seniors out of the SCR-I Drama Department last year, she would have seven seniors back on the boards (stage) this year.
Three of these seniors are no strangers to Scotland County audiences. Reece Hogarth returns for his third high school performance, and he has also appeared in one Memphis Community Players’ production.
Kelli McBee and Michael Fulk are both second season SCR-I veterans who performed with the MCP last summer.
Senior rookies Margaret Drummond, Devin Mauck, Misty Sturguess, and Amanda Watkins are anxious to make their premiere performance at the Memphis Theatre.
Junior Lynnette Green is also a second year veteran and role model for the underclass rookies of the year: Brandon Alexander, PeJaye Brown, Kelly Cochenour, Laura Duley, Jessica Humes, Brandi Kapfer, Kolby Peterson, and Monica Schmitz.
“I would call this cast a Cinderella team, except for the fact that we are doing ‘Robin Hood,’” quipped Couch. “This group of 16 students, the largest drama class that I’ve had in my 10 years of directing at SCR-I, has really meshed, creating a winning combination.”
Don’t miss “The Legend of Robin Hood. . .Sort of” by Pat Cook, running March 17-19 at 7:00 p.m. in the Memphis Theatre. Tickets are available in advance at the SCR-I High School office. Call 465-8901 for information.
