Checkered Flag Falls On 2004 Season at Show-Me Speedway
Saturday night racing excitement in northeast Missouri isnít limited to just stock cars. Show-Me Speedway wrapped up a successful 2004 season of go-kart racing with the season finale September 18th in Downing.
A total of 41 entries made it to the track for the final points race of 2004.
David Kirkpatrick of Memphis bested the field in the Over 40 Division. The #48 kart held off the #711 of Rhea Golden and the #2 of Jay Brush.
The Stock Division also went to a Memphis driver as Adam Baker had the #22 kart running at the top of the class. He beat the mother-daughter duo of Jennie and Ashley Hutchinson.
The Rookie class was won by Ben Bolden in the #39. He bested Joey Hagar (#37) and Elliot OíNeal (#8).
Cody Dunn did double duty in the #76 kart. He beat Tyler Griesbaum and Brittany Thelen to win the Junior I Division. Dunn then turned around and took the checkered flag in the Junior I Heavy Class feature race. He held off #44 Andy Garrett and #88 Jeff Noel to take his second win of the night.
In the Junior II race it was Tyler Hagar (#32) taking the checkered flag. He beat #3 Wes Golden to the finish line. Jared Fox (#28) was third.
Don Corbin of Chillicothe was the 50-50 winner on the night. Ethan OíNeal of Trenton and Kenneth Sanford of LaPlata won track t-shirts.
The 2004 Show-Me Speedway race association is planning a banquet this winter. The date will be announced.
