JOHN FRANCIS CAMDEN

John Francis Camden, 76, of Glenwood, MO, passed away unexpectedly at his home March 29, 2004.
The son of John Floyd and Ivalee Maxine (Kearse) Camden, he was born on November 15, 1927, in rural Glenwood, MO.
On August 20, 1950, in Kirksville, MO, he was united in marriage to Reba Nadine Lyberger and to this union six children were born, Linda Carol, John David, William Dale, Carla Jean, Karen Sue and Jeanne Kay.
Survivors include his children, Linda Moore and husband, John of Brashear, MO, David and wife, Lisa Camden of Marshalltown, IA, Bill Camden of Glenwood, MO, Carla Lancial and husband, Richard of Oskaloosa, IA, Karen Camden of Wausau, WI, and Jeanne Camden of St. Louis, MO; six grandchildren, Kelly and Kale Moore, Jennifer and Joanna Camden and Kyle and Samantha Lancial of Oskaloosa, IA; one aunt, Lorita Kearse of Coatsville, MO; several cousins and a host of friends and neighbors.
John was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Reba on May 23, 1999.
John has lived on the same farm all of his life, where he was a livestock and grain farmer. He was baptized as a young child at the Bethel Church south of Glenwood, MO. John served 18 months in the United States Army in Alaska. He was a member of the Baker Sparks American Legion Post #575 of Livonia, MO. He was also a past 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge #427 of Glenwood, MO. John was very active in the community and served on many committees including Chairman of the County Office Committee for the Farm Service Agency, Schuyler County Concerned Citizens, Glenwood Cemetery Board, Schuyler County Seniors Tax Board, Schuyler County Zoning Board, Republican Committee and many, many more.
Funeral services were held April 1, 2204 at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, MO with Brent Fleshman, assisted by Sonny Smyser officiating. Music was provided by organist Maureen Watkins. Pallbearers were Shane Hall, Edward Lanham, Sam Kerby, David Hartsock, David Daniels, Lynn Seegmiller, Ralph Lyons and Paul Steen. Honorary pallbearers were Howard Harris, Rex Kerby, Dale Shively, Wayne Seegmiller and David Yelton. Masonic services were held March 31, 2004, at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, MO. Memorials have been established for the Schuyler County Nutrition Site or Glenwood Cemetery. Burial was in the Glenwood Cemetery in Glenwood, MO. Final arrangements were under the direction of the Norman Funeral Home.
