Alfred Jackson Hutchinson, affectionately known as ďJackĒ, age 61, of Orange Park, Florida passed away on January 2, 2004 after complications from surgery.

Jack was the son of Alfred and Elsie Hutchinson. He was born in Hammond, Indiana on September 22, 1942.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Robert Hutchinson.

Survivors include his daughter Mrs. Becky Ellis of Atlanta, Georgia; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Jackson of Orange Park, Florida and Mrs. Martha Stiles of Tennessee; his aunt Phyllis Hutchinson of Wyaconda, Missouri; cousins and a host of friends.

Jackís father passed away when he was 11 years old and from then on Jack spent his

summers in Wyaconda at his uncleís home, the home of Doc and Phyllis Hutchinson. Wyaconda became his summer home and Jack became a part of the family.

Jack stayed for two years with Doc & Phyllis while attending Northeast Missouri State University in Kirksville. He then graduated with a degree in biology at Purdue University. Jack had taught school, had been a pharmaceutical representative, had been a quality manager for American Home Foods and was currently working in Quality Control at Duro Corp in Jacksonville, Florida.

Jack was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Orange Park, Florida where he was very active as head usher of the church, a volunteer leader of the youth group, chair of the Evangelism Committee, and on the Worship Committee.

He also helped lead the youth ďPumpkin PatchĒ each year. When visiting his aunt in Wyaconda each summer Jack always helped with the Kids For Christ youth group at the Wyaconda Christian Church.

As a youth leader at Calvary UMC Jack helped serve hundreds of pizzas to the youth and their families. A memorial service was held at the Wyaconda Christian Church on Sunday January 11th with Pastor Shawn McAfee officiating. A memorial service was also held that day at the Calvary United Methodist Church in Orange Park, Florida. Both churches then met afterwards for pizza and fellowship.

Burial will be at a later date in the Wyaconda Cemetery, with graveside services at that time. This notice will be in the paper for family and friends who would like to attend.
