GOLDIE WANETTA MARLOW

Goldie Wanetta Marlow of Bloomfield, IA, 98, passed away January 6, 2004, at the Bloomfield Care Center in Bloomfield, IA.
The daughter of Asa Elmer and Eliza Jane (Grimes) Leedom, she was born on July 20, 1905, in rural Glenwood, MO.
On February 13, 1919, in Memphis, MO, she was united in marriage to Roy Dewitt Marlow, who preceded her in death on May 24, 1966. To this union six children were born, John, Paul, Elene, Roy D. Jr., Manford Earl and James M.
Survivors include her children, Paul and wife, Berneice Marlow of Lenox, MO, Elene Freeman of Marceline, MO, Roy D. Jr. and wife, Thelma Marlow of Hardin, IL, Manford Earl and wife, Marguerite of St. Paul, MN, and James M. and wife, Carol of Bloomfield, IA; 14 grandchildren; six generations of great-grandchildren; two brothers, Louie Leedom of Kirksville, MO, and Guy Leedom of Oren, IL.
Goldie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy; one son, John in infancy; one grandchild, Joy; three brothers, Gerald, James (Bob) and Herman (Jack); three sisters, Minnie McCartney, Cora Evans and Vauna Bailey.
Goldie was a member of the Mark Baptist Church in Mark, I A, and was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a homemaker and had helped her husband sell Watkins products for many years. Goldie was very proud of her family and for having six generations of grandchildren.
Funeral services were held January 10, 2004, at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, MO with Reverend Roger Marlow officiating. Pallbearers were her grandsons. Burial was in the Arni Memorial Cemetery in Lancaster, MO. A memorial has been established for the Mark Baptist Church in Mark, IA. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, MO.
