Patrol Reports Safer November on Scotland County Roads
Scotland County witnessed a much safer November on the roadways according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Troopers investigated just two traffic accidents during the month, compared to 13 crashes during the same time period in 2003.
The steep decline helped drop the accident totals for the year to just 40, well below the 2003 mark of 52 crash investigations during the first 11 months of 2003.
The safer month helped Scotland County drop to the lowest accident totals in all 16 counties in the Patrol’s Troop B. Randolph County has witnessed 258 traffic crashes investigated by the Patrol this year.
The two local crashes resulted in injuries to two individuals. That brings the total to 22 accident-related injuries in Scotland County without a fatality.
There were four fatalities in November across Troop B. The region still has seen a safer 2004, with 33 fatalities compared to 45 crash-related deaths last year.
