MACC Meeting Focuses On Fall Promotions
Local businesses just wrapped up Halloween and it’s time to turn our attention to turkeys and even Christmas. The Memphis Area Chamber of Commerce took a look back at the spooky end of October at its recent meeting to discuss a number of successful promotions.
The winners were announced from the Fall Tour promotion. The joint effort between the MACC and the Edina Chamber of Commerce landed a pair of Scotland County residents $75 in prizes. Tamera Tague of Gorin and Twila Stevenson of Arbela were the lucky winners. Each received $50 in Memphis Bucks and $25 in Edina Bucks. They registered at Countryside Flowers and Rose Hardware.
The Fall Tour also featured a scarecrow contest, which was won by Jeanie and Boyd Bissell.
The MACC sponsored a special Halloween movie on Saturday, October 30. A total of 88 guests attended the movie for free, courtesy of the MACC membership.
It was estimated that more than 300 kids took part in the Halloween safe stops held by more than 50 chamber members.
