NEMO Pheasants Forever Chapter To Host Eighth Annual Banquet

The Northeast Missouri Chapter of Pheasants Forever will hold its eighth annual banquet Saturday, November 6th in Memphis at the V.F.W.

The fundraiser will feature an impressive list of wildlife artwork, hunting supplies and other memorabilia to be auctioned off to raise money for restoration of wildlife habitat that will benefit not only upland game birds like pheasants and quail, but all wildlife overall.

The auction list for the event is 40 items strong featuring framed artwork by famous artists like James Meger, Larry Zach and Terry Redlin. Other auction items will include an oak clock, a bird dog pup, an afghan and other PF memorabilia.

In addition to the regular auction, the event will feature a silent auction table with items such as a coat rack, a gun safe, a quilt, and several unframed prints for viewers to vie for with written bids.

And if that is not enough, the group will feature several special raffles throughout the evening. Topping the list of prizes is a raffle for a special SKB 12-gauge over and under shotgun. Guests will have a chance to win the pick of the auction in one raffle and can take a chance on dozens and dozens of prizes in the general raffle. There will be a ďMad HatterĒ auction, with 12 hats auctioned off. One of the hats will contain the lucky number to win a Beretta 391 PF.

The ďKill it and grill itĒ raffle gives players a chance to win a Knight muzzleloader and a gas grill. The shotgun shell raffle is giving away a Mossy Oak recliner or an antler lamp. The Pheasant Bingo winner will take home a Stoeger 20-gauge shotgun.

Youth will have a special feature at the banquet. Anyone under the age of 15 can join Ringnecks. There will be a special raffle for Ringnecks with one lucky youth taking home a Rossi .410/.22 or a Remington 870 shotgun or a PF Crossman BB gun.

The organization is hoping the bountiful agenda for the banquet will help the club raise additional funds to pursue habitat projects. Over the past eight years the group has made significant contributions to local projects.

Scotland County conservationists are taking advantage of locally generated funding to restore wildlife habitat and to construct new territory friendly to gamebirds, deer, turkey and the countless other creatures that call this region home.
