Chamber To Host Safe Stops for Trick or Treaters
After a very successful debut last year the Memphis Area Chamber of Commerce will be sure to help local ghouls and goblins fill up with candy for Halloween as the groupís members will host the Second Annual Safe Stops for Trick or Treaters on Friday, October 29.
More than 50 member businesses will open their doors to costumed candy collectors from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Organizers Debbie Kigar and Melissa Behrens reported that the number of participants nearly doubled for the programís second season. The MACC members are striving to provide safe opportunities for children and their parents to collect treats and perform tricks.
Participating members will have a bright green sign in their window to welcome guests. See the ad on Page 15 for a complete list.
Chamber members also have joined together to host a customer appreciation night at the Memphis Theatre Saturday, October 30 for a Halloween film ďVan HelsingĒ. The spooky film is being offered free of charge and will start at 9:30 p.m. following the regularly scheduled film, Spiderman 2. Organizers noted that children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult for the special Halloween movie.
