SCR-I To Host District #12 Softball Tourney

Fans that would like to see the Scotland County softball team bring home a district title won’t have far to go to try to cheer their team on to victory. SCR-I will host the Class 2 District #12 Softball Tournament October 6,7 and 9 at the high school field.

The host team was seeded #3 and will take on the #2 team, Clark County, on Thursday, October 7 at 7:00 p.m.

Defending state champion Putnam County received the #1 seed and a bye into the tournament’s semi-finals.

Knox County, who knocked SCR-I out of the semi-finals in 2003 in a 17-inning marathon, is seeded fourth. They will play #5 seed Schuyler County to open the tournament Wednesday, October 6 at 6:00 p.m.

The winner of this contest will have to face Putnam County in a semi-final game scheduled for Thursday, October 7 at 5:00 p.m.

The district title game will be played Saturday, October 9 at 7:00 p.m.
