Antique Fair A Big Success Despite Rain
Despite bad weather the Scotland County Antique Fair came off a very big success.
There were good crowds at both band performances on Thursday night and Saturday night. The band on Friday afternoon drew a good crowd to listen to some old time music.
The bad weather kept some of the venders away and hurt sales of those who were present. The Kahoka Lions Club sold well over 100 gallons of ice cream. The food stands all did pretty well.
A large crowd enjoyed the parade on Saturday. The rain held off until the parade was over.
The draft horse pull at the fairgrounds was a big success and drew a pretty good crowd on Sunday morning.
The Antique Fair Association appreciated the help it received to make the fair a success. Some furnished cars, some worked in food stands, some furnished cakes for the cakewalk, some decorated windows, some just helped where needed, and some of us learned how to take down and put up tents in a hurry.
As we have always said, this is a county event and again the whole county came together to put the Antique Fair on and made it such a success.
The Antique Fair Association is asking that people let them know any comments they may have, pro or con, and let them know what you would like to see next year at the Antique Fair.
