Memphis Police Officers Make Pair Of DWI Arrests
The Memphis Police Department reported making a pair of arrests for Driving While Intoxicated during the month of April.
On April 2, Charles Myers of Memphis was stopped at 4:25 p.m. on Saunders Street in Memphis. He was ticketed for DWI and taken to Scotland County Jail for processing before being released to family members due to medical reasons.
On April 10, Timothy G. Higdon, 27, of Memphis was stopped at 12:10 a.m. on Strong Boulevard. Higdon was ticketed for DWI and operating a vehicle on the roadway without a valid license.
He was taken to Scotland County Jail for processing and remained for a 12-hour detoxification hold.
At the May 6 city council meeting city marshal Steve Snodgrass reported in addition to the two DWI arrests, the police department investigated six motor-vehicle accidents and one-motor vehicle theft during the month of April.
Officers made 39 traffic stops and assisted on five ambulance runs, 24 animal calls and three fire calls. The department made 19 community security checks and answered 89 miscellaneous calls.
The police department made one drug arrest and investigated one domestic dispute in April.
