‘Little’ Memphis To Host Own Blues Concert
Memphis, Missouri often is confused for Memphis, Tennessee. While typically that mistake is made in name only, visitors to the northeast Missouri town on April 25 may feel like they are seeing a little piece of the big city courtesy of the blues concert and barbecue to be held at the Scotland County Fairgrounds.
Nick Moss and the Flip Tops all the way from Chicago, IL, will be performing in the Sunday afternoon concert.
This is a return trip to little Memphis for Moss. He brought his Windy City Blues to the SCR-I High School for an assembly two years ago and definitely raised the appreciation level for blues music among the students and faculty.
Moss is a two-time W.C. Handy Nominee for his music. His CD, Got a New Plan, hit #10 on the Living Blues Radio Chart.
The Chicago group will be sharing time on stage with Shane Johnson’s Blue Train out of Iowa.
The event will kick off at 2:00 p.m. and will be held rain or shine. The cost is $5 and spectators are reminded to bring their own lawn chairs and refreshments.
