Walkers Will Help Raise Money For Tiger Trail
The Tiger Trail Team in collaboration with the Scotland County Health Department and the Scotland County Fitness Center will host the 3rd Annual Tiger Trail Walk-a-thon at the Rec/Plex in Memphis Saturday, February 28.
Teams of up to five members will compete in the fundraiser striving to complete the largest number of laps during the event, which runs from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The winning team will receive free one-month memberships to the fitness center for each team member.
Each team will have one member on the track completing laps. Spotters will track the progress and will strictly enforce rules that mandate that participants must walk.
This year’s event will also feature a number of health related information booths at the center. Displays will include information on the PACE group, Tae Bo, Tae Kwon Do, aerobics, Yoga, stress management, heart healthy diets, Smokebusters and weight lifters, Weight Watchers, line dancing and more.
The entry fee for the event is $20. All proceeds go to the Tiger Trail Team, which is working to enhance the public outdoor walking trail located behind the elementary school.
